The .ts problem nobody warns you about
Here's what happens on most Dailymotion downloader sites: you paste a
link, click download, and end up with a file called something like
video.ts. You double-click it — and Windows asks what program to open it
with, your iPhone refuses to import it into Photos, and your smart TV
doesn't see it at all.
The reason is technical but simple. Dailymotion no longer serves videos as single MP4 files. It streams them as HLS: the video chopped into dozens of small MPEG-TS segments, delivered one chunk at a time. About "HD" claims. Every converter advertises HD; the honest version is that you get whatever the source upload contains, up to 1080p. A video uploaded at 720p has no 1080p version to give anyone — sites that promise otherwise are relabeling, not enhancing.
